About this deal

I used it daily during a heatwave last year when my daughter was a newborn as I was worried about my flat being too warm and I found it easy to move around the house wherever she was napping. Can you use the Gro-Egg as a nightlight? The ingenious Groegg changes colour in response to a room’s temperature. And yes, it can also be used as a nightlight!

I’ve found the Groegg2 to be both accurate and consistent when measuring it against the readings of my home’s Hive thermostat system. While there’s usually a difference of 0.2 degrees between the two readings, the results are close enough for me to feel reassured of the Groegg2's accuracy. Although your instincts might tell you to keep your baby’s nursery warmer than the rest of the house, the safe sleep charity The Lullaby Trust recommends that the ideal temperature should be between 16°C and 20°C. The soft-glow light helps to create a calming sleep environment has 3 different brightness levels so you can adjust the intensity of the light to suit your little one.Can the Groegg2 be powered by batteries? A: No, the Groegg2 needs to be connected to a power source using the included AC power adapter. It doesn’t have a battery option for power. Is the Groegg2 accurate? A: The Groegg2 is designed to provide accurate temperature readings. However, it’s always a good idea to cross-reference the readings with other thermometers to ensure accuracy. As mum to a now 14-month-old, I’ve been able to test the Groegg2 out in my own home, using it consistently for naps and during the night to monitor the temperature in my daughter’s room. I have also taken it with me for overnight stays at her grandparents’ house. Grace: I would choose this product over similar on the market as it is a trusted brand, an easy to use product and looks good and inobtrusive on the shelf. It is not much different to the original groegg but does look a bit nicer, however I would happily buy the original groegg if there was a significant difference in price. Disclosure: We were sent the featured products for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.

Alexandra: Yes I would recommend the Tommee Tippee GroEgg2. From a safety perspective, it's great like I said aids what children should wear and also helps decide about windows open in the day and how to manage climate control and central heating fans and some friends even have air conditioning units I think it also makes a good night light it is a warming colour which I like. While I think the LED display might actually be too bright considering it’s on show permanently when the device is plugged in, it’s clear that the brightness is more a safety measure than anything else. Newborns aren’t able to control their own body temperature, so your baby relies on you to monitor and keep their nursery at a constant temperature that's not too hot or cold.Yes! One of the great things about this thermometer is its minimalism, which makes it super easy for parents to use. You press a button on the underside of the unit to alter the brightness levels and the padded feet mean you can place the Groegg2 anywhere without surfaces getting scratched. Some products also change colour as a warning if the temperature in the room suddenly gets too warm or cold.

What is the difference between Groegg & Groegg2? The Groegg2 is a larger, brighter version of the Groegg. It also has a soft, silicone covering as opposed to the hard plastic covering of the original version. If a baby gets too warm, there's an increased risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), also known as cot death. It's a simple to use, colour-coded model that lets you clearly see if the temperature is too hot, too cold or just right. Fiona: It is an excellent product for providing some safeguarding information. It provide easy information for how to dress the child at night, a time at which you are always understandbly nervous as to how to dress them. The colours also provide a night light to give a small section of light to use at night. So as a product to make life easier as a mum I would thoroughly recommend it. Would you recommend this product to other parents? A room thermometer will help monitor the nursery's temperature and give parents peace of mind, and many models can be used to measure bath water too, so you only need to buy one thermometer to serve both purposes.
