About this deal

Presented with mouthwatering pictures and engaging text that makes you want to cook, the recipes are easy to follow and written in an engaging way that isn't gimmicky. Just to note (because I often make the mistake of not reading recipes fully until I come to make something!

Packed with around 100 mouth-watering vegan recipes, Natural Flava will elevate your vegan cooking repertoire with finger-licking goodness. Original Flava: Caribbean Recipes from Home by Craig and Shaun McAnuff celebrates Carribean cookery but with a modern twist. Think Potato and C hickpea Curry with Roti, Jerk C auliflower Wings, Coconut, Black-Eyed Pea and Sweet Potato Stew, and Plantain Cookies . This cookbook definitely delivers on what it promises in that every recipe is packed with spices, peppers, and other flavourful foods to guarantee meals that will leave your taste buds happy.

The most important thing, we think, is the togetherness food brings - the same happiness we have with our family. Biography: Craig and Shaun McAnuff, raised in London and of Jamaican descent, are bringing Caribbean food to the masses. There are plenty of recipes to try: I'd certainly like to try cooking the Vegan shepherds pie, a giant patty and Rasta Pumpkin pasta to start with.

We want to give you platefuls that taste like grandma's food so there are recipes for classics like Ackee 'n' Saltfish and Curry goat, and Caribbean favourites from home such as Garlic butter lobster and Trini doubles. The most important thing, we think, is the togetherness food brings – the same happiness we have with our family. I don't know a lot about Caribbean food, let alone vegan Caribbean recipes so I was excited to learn more. In a bowl, season the beef with the salt, pepper, thyme, paprika, all-purpose seasoning and soy sauce/browning.Caribbean food makes for brilliant vegan dishes because it relies on fresh and vibrant fruit and veg, from plantain to pineapple. One of my aids in fighting the grimness outside has been this persuasively upbeat book by Craig and Shaun McAnuff who are brothers from South London of Jamaican heritage. In April 2016, they launched the Original Flava brand, sharing videos of them cooking simple Caribbean recipes. This spicy tofu curry went down a real treat and I would happily devour this again and again (infact we froze leftovers and I have already had those too). While I am no sun-worshipper, I do find the gloomy greyness of a long British winter slightly less than cheering.

Think Potato and chickpea curry with roti, Jerk cauliflower wings, Coconut, black-eyed pea and sweet potato stew, and Plantain cookies . Jamaican food also has an authentic vegan history with the Rastafarian Ital diet ('Ital' is a natural, unprocessed, plant-based diet used to promote wellness). I mention it only because I feel if I alter anything in someone’s recipe, I feel it is only polite to say so! Now, in Natural Flava, they're spreading the love, offering Ital inspiration and punchy Caribbean flavors to the feel-good, plant-based diet taking the world by storm.I think if you’re more familiar with Caribbean cooking this won’t be a problem for you, but if you aren’t, just be prepared for it.
